The Power of the White Coat Series

I’ve always enjoyed writing, though I wouldn’t really call myself a writer.

Over the last few years, I’ve taken on some new roles in my life. I moved from teaching in a high school classroom to working at a technical college. I stepped into a national leadership role with the American Culinary Federation. I also took on a larger role helping lead my son’s Cub Scout Pack.

I’ve made mistakes along the way. I’ve also learned a lot.

Some of those lessons came from kitchens. Others came from classrooms, professional organizations, Scouting, community work, and simply trying to become a better leader.

I decided I wanted to start putting some of those observations and lessons into writing.

Beginning with The Power of the White Coat, I plan to release one article each month as part of a 12-part series focused on leadership, professionalism, service, mentorship, growth, and the responsibility that comes with being someone others count on.
